scanning a form w/lines

Specs: Windows XP
I have an HP Officejet 5610 printer/scanner and I would like to be able to scan forms w/ lines and text and be able to edit them.

You would use the OCR [optical character recognition] function,if it exists for this unit. Or if is can scan to pdf you can use a pdf editor. Have you read the users manual?

It is called OCR (Optical Character Recognition). You scanner should have come with OCR software. Be aware OCR is not an exact science so you will find that it will mess up your formatting and some times see "S"s as "5"s and staple holes as periods and so on.

I tell people here where I work that it is not practical unless you have 10 or more pages because the time you will invest in the cleanup could have been spent retyping it.
