Scanner not compatible?

Specs: Windows XP, Athalon 2200+ 1.8 ghz 256

I have a Visioneer ONe Touch 7600 USB scanner that is not working w/ XP on my new computer.
Tried to install the software, got a message saying it may not be compatible. Is there anything I can do to make it work?

You must have PaperPort version 6.0 or greater.
Installing ot 7600 Usb on Windows XP

Good luck! I have been working on trying to get a friends visioneer working for awhile. Visioneer pretty much stop supporting their scanners with xp but for your model number you might be in luck try this,

Carrie,
I will email you some instructions when I get home tonight that helped me. I have an 8100 that was a major pain to get going. It works fine now except you can't use fast user switching with the 8100 actively working or it will lockup tight.

Hate to tell you this but Visioneer is a piece of crap. I was shopping at Big Lots and saw that they had two scanners for sale really cheap - $39.99. One was Visioneer and the other Mustek BearPaw plus. Since it was a cheapy store and since it is rare to find a good scanner at an affordable price I decided to research the web for information regarding the two. Boy, Visioneer got horrible reviews. Something about having to unlock scanner (but no locking mechanism). Comments said Do Not Waste Your Money. I looked up the other scanner and found excellent reviews. Get the BearPaw!
