Scanner FlatBed Canon F913500

Hi All I have a Scanner FlatBed Canon F913500 which was installed on the parents computer and worked fine (They had XP too)....i got given the scanner and now i cant get it working on my computer.....i have installed the software and also plugged it into the printer port. OK i dont have a printer.....so plugging it into to the printer port so should work fine no? Any help would be appreciated Chris

Did you update the driver? When I went from win98 to XP, my canon scanner wouldn't go without the update.

You might also want to disable your AV program prior to loading the software and drivers. For some reason, Canon software doesn't like the AV software running when installing their software. Lessons learnt the hard way are not easily forgotten.
