Have HP ScanJet 5370C scanner. After installing HP PrecisionScan Pro 2.52 software from CD, get a message, "Sorry, scanner could not be initialized. (Scanner Not Found)"
Should receive message NEW HARDWARE FOUND but I receive a message "A problem occurred during the installation. Your scanner may not work." AND IT DOESN'T.

HP doesn't suggest there that this scanner is not compatible with XP. I had to do a similiar download for my Scanjet 932c which is at least 2 plus years old. Scanners are tricky but you should eventually get your computer to find it. You may have to download the Precision Scan update as well, which is also on this site.
