Hey...anybody can tell me why the Scanner and Camera Wizard doesn't launch anymore when I plug my camera into my computer using the supplies USB cable?...it always worked before but just quit one day...can't think of anything that was installed to interfere with it...even tried system restore. The window comes up offering me the option like it used to, but when I click on it the window disappears and I have to open the pictures through explorer...thanks for any help.

Have you been getting the 'Windows Updates' regularly? I had the same probelm and only last Friday when 2 new 'security' updates were downloaded, did it return to 'normal'. Try getting the latest WIndows updates and see if it fixes things. Can't tell you exactly which one as the description from MS did not include an USB device drivers or Chipset Drivers. They are cloacked as Security Updates.

Hey Brian...I thought the same thing, that it might be an update. But my thinking was that it was an update that DID THE DAMAGE..I have automatic updates set up on this computer and yes, I have all the updates/patches....man, it's really frustrating...thanks.

Well...this IS a curious reaction...the wizard seems to launch when it feels like it... Sometimes with my camera and sometimes with my scanner...and sometimes NOT AT ALL... The icons both appear in "my computer" when connected...however...when I manually start the scanner/camera wizard...it NEVER detects any new hardware...
