I am using a brother MFC printer (all-in-one) to accomplish the task of taking scanned documents and attaching them to my email. The issue i am having is that the images when shown in the body of an email or when you click the view attachment button is gigantic. About the size of 4-6 peices of regular paper. If i download the image before viewing, it's no problem. It looks completely normal and prints normal. I changed the DPI settings for the scan from 600x600 to 300x300 to see if that would help. No change at all. We need to be able to view these files without downloading them to the computers. We are emailing invoices and the like so we need to remedy this problem on our side of the ball.

I appreciate your time involved in this!

Look into purchasing a 'scan to pdf' software package. Google search it, there are many.

Thanks for you input. We have already made a substantial investment in our office upgrade. I am really looking for some information on tweaking what we already have. Like i mentioned. It does work, the image is just huge until you download it. Is there a way around this?

You mentioned resizing the pictures, but what dpi setting are you scanning at, i.e. 300 dpi? If so, try reducing your dpi to 72 if this is just for viewing. You might have to bump the dpi up if someone will be wanting to print.

I send a lot of photos by email.

I usually make the image 8 inches wide and 72 DPI.

I use MS Powertoy Image Resizer before attaching any images to e-mail or inserting it in the message.

There are a stack of programs that can reduce an image size for email. I think Irfan View can do it - an excellent free product if you don't already have it onboard.
