ScanMagic 1200 UB Plus, Drivers?

Where can I get my ScanMagic Drivers from, I tryed ScanMagic.com, & Mustek, but i cant find them. It is a ScanMagic 1200 UB Plus Scanner and I have Windows XP on my computer.

Try the Win 2000 drivers, most of the work with Xp, that is what I use for my scanner. Granter my scanner is a MicroTek and when I installed the drivers, XP said, NO DON'T DO THIS AND JUST TOLD IT TO INSTALL and everything worked without problems.

All my various cd drives was stolen from my residence. I have the ScanMagic 1200 UB Plus for only 3 months. I am unable to get a CD Rom driver. I tried to down load it. But due to a thunder storm I had to stop.

I have tried the download for won2000 and I use XP and it wouldn't work. I recieved a message that said will work with only Windows 2000 installer. Any suggestion or help would be appreciated.

I contacted the support desk and they suggested this solution (with no guarantees)

The drivers installed but it doesn't seem to work, please let me know if you sort it out.

1. start regedit


2. about HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\Windows NT\current version


change the valve name “product name”
from Microsoft Windows XP
into Microsoft Windows 2000

3. install the Mustek driver for Windows 2000


4. undo the changes in the registry.

I followed the above instructions and I was only able to get as far as: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Microsoft\Windows NT\current version....

I'm not able to find the change the: "valve name “product name” from Microsoft Windows XP into Microsoft Windows 2000" portion of these instructions. I'm a home user, does that matter? Please elaborate on how I can finish these instructions as I too am trying to get my ScanMagic 1200 UB Plus scanner to work. Many thanks.

i followed the directions on the mustek website for installing the winxp thing for my scanner it i dint work i dont think i did it right the instructions were complicated and was wondering if any one knows what im talking about and what should i do

when i connect my scanner to PC, all goes fine when it wants to install the file gt680x.sys from driver CD. But its not there.. and cannot find anywhere.. what should i do...

Zeb, I'm pretty sure you have to install the software first, before plugging in the USB connector for the scanner, into the computer. The setup is looking for files that aren't there yet.
