scandisk results

I schduled a scan disk and error scan for the hard driuve within windows to start the next time the comp[uter is restarted. I restarted it and let scan disk do its thing since it takes a while and wlaked away, once it finished it automatically booted into windows. Does anyone know where i can go to find out the results??

Go to the Event Viewer\Application and look for winlogon
That's the only thing I've ever found
However - on that winlogon - you'll notice 'Size of Log 65000Kb' - I've yet to find out what that Log is or where it is

Or open notepad and open C:\Scandisk.log

Start Menu - Right Click My Computer - Manage
Open the Event Viewer in the Left Panel

Hi Lesley,
Disregard my previous post. You're correct there is no scandisk.log file placed on the root directory of drive c. As an FYI there is no scandisk in Windows XP other than chkdsk or chkntfs.

Yes - the winlogon in the Event Viewer is the report from chkdsk
It is the Log - permanently at 65000Kb - mentioned in winlogon - that I am curious about
