scandisk missing

when i got to system tools, scan disk is not there, is it supposed to be? i already tried searching for it.

right click on your local hard disk in 'my computer', properties > tools

The reason why you cannot find Scandisk is because is not available in XP. M$ recommend that you run chkdsk as per mattie's post above.
