I have been having this problem with my SB Live in WinXP where it doesn't remember my speaker settings when I restart. It defaults to 2 speaker mode even though I select 4 speakers. It worked ok in win2k, so I'm not sure what's up. I have tried the factory drivers from the cd and also newer ones from the website. Does anyone else have this problem and do you know how to fix it? Quite annoying really..
Oh gee.....yet ANOTHER problem with CREATIVE products.......
KTTD care to comment on yet another problem with Creative products? :-)

Yes creative sucks... but it is common software.. This may seem redundant but.. make sure you have the "digital only" box checked, otherwise you 4 speaker system will not work !

No no no, that is wrong... If your SB live is like mine (player 1024) if you check the digital only sound you won't hear sound at all!!! That's because Cambridge Soundworks speaker that come with it are ANALOG and NOT DIGITAL! (those white speakers) But that isnt' the problem... I've had the same problem you had and more. It crashed my win xp everytime i wanted to change my speaker settings while playing some kind of sound. I had to reinstall xp one time because creative drivers that came with the sound card totally messed up my system (win 2000 drivers) so i installed the latest creative drivers. It runs fine, but keeps crashing if i try to change speaker settings while playing a song in winamp for example...
Hope that helped. Mail me if you have any questions.
