Hello !!
Just wanted to ask you if someone could help me.
I have installed the creative XP support drivers because I had problems with my 4 speakers. Now, this is solved, but I hear very unpleasant sounds when I start or shut down my computer.
I have already installed the latest via drivers.Thanx for your help.

Why can't you just disable the start and shutdown sounds or you can go in and manually change them to different sounds that are available on your hard drive. Please email me back.

I have that problem also. But I think these sound are the buffered sounds in memory of sound card, because the sounds are the continuance of the last playback.

I downloaded the XP drivers from creative for my soundblaster Platinum and they worked ok, also the next day i went to windows update and microsoft had a further update i installed them and all is well.. hope this helps
laterzz

If you install the Creative Drivers, and then goto Windows Update, and install that, you just re-installed the MS drivers over the creative drivers. The drivers you see on MS site after installing from creative are not an update, but show up because they AREN'T installed on your system due to the creative drivers being installed. So basically you are running the MS drivers again.
Personally I'd use the MS drivers, I had problems with computer lock ups using the creative drivers, many other people have also.

Ok, thanx. I have found that it does not do these "pops" with the Microsoft drivers, but when I use them I can't have a four speakers sound in all applications (I have to set the direct sound output with Winamp)
Anyway I will try the new Creative drivers (11/29/01) that you can find here : http://download.creative.com/software/winxp/SBLiveXPDrvUpdate.exe
Hope this will work.Have a nice day

hi rockshox yep i get ya drift, i thought it scanned the version number or summink like that, but im sure u r correct in what u say, although i didnt really see a difference, also my 5.1 is fine in all applications as far as i know..

i just installed xp on a clean install and i tried to install live ware 3 for win2k but it just froze up. then i tried installing the update on sb's website and i still only get 2 speakers it is set to 4 in the audiohq. but NO 4 SPEAKERS!!!

When i update my drivers for win xp , my sound card doesn't work well . I use a 4 speakers . How can i solve it
