I have SB Live! 5.1, Athlon XP 2000+. Gigabyte 7VAXP, Windows XP SP1 Pro... when I playback DVD or WMA files via WMP and native Live! drivers, everything is ok. But, when I install latest Live! drivers, and playback DVD (WinDVD Platinum) or some media files (WMP9) I have some strange bzzzzz sound... no conflicts, but I have bzzzz sound... but, when I unistal drivers, and System restored to native XP drivers, I don't have bzzzzz sound... one week ago, everything is worked fine... and I reformat and reinstal system, and this nightmare began... any help? sorry for bad english.

All I can tell you is stay with the native drivers until the next updated drivers are released.
Are you absolutely positive that you installed the correct driver update???

Hi
I am using the latest drivers for my Soundblaster live 5.1 Digital and the sound is exelent, no probs what so ever
Zero Cool

I know that mainboard well... very well... you need to go into bios and disable onboard sound I believe you still have it enabled in the bios.. exit saving changes... then you should be ok with installing the latest driver for sblive.
Just for info.. that ac97 onboard sound.. is as good as that sblive unless you have a 5 speaker set-up or have spent a fortune on computer surround sound system speakers.

AC97 is disabled... I don't have anything in Device Manager with ! or ?... native drivers work fine, but when I install latest, march 2003 LiveDrv Pack, I have bzzz sound... 4in1 is v4.46... Radeon 9000 Pro > Catalyst v3.2... DirectX 9.0... Windows XP SP1a installed... maybe XPSP1a is a problem, or I need to try with Direct X 9.0a... before format I used XP SP1, not SP1a... and DirectX 8.1... this is a first time, since 1999, that I have problem with SB Live!
