Hi,
I had to reinstall Windows and had to do all the basic tweaking all over again. Now I've backed up my Windows services registry to a CD. I would like to back up my basic audiovisual Windows settings in case of a reinstall.
Which part of the registry should I copy? I already tried Google, but I just need to have my basic user settings copied, not the whole registry.

The third alternative is buy and use DeepFreeze. This program will reset your saved configuration each time you reboot. It's very configurable.
Which part of the registry should I copy?
There is no simple part to copy because Windows XP registry is a closely-guarded secret, which is why we are suggesting that you use Ghost, Backup or Deepfreeze.
