I would put the BAT file on the root directory because everything is "seen" at the root directory by the computer.

So locate it on: C:\

It is the first window that opens when you go to Drive C where boot.ini, cmldr, etc. live.

I understand now. Just store it on C:\
and not in any folder therein.
Thanks for the help.

YA!
I had to also uncheck "hide protected system files", in order to find boot.ini
Then checked it back.
Thanks

I would go nuts if I couldn't see all and get drunk and delete something that I shouldn't. How else would I learn?

It appears that because of the name of the file:

%windir%\Printdir.bat

Windows stuck it where it wanted it:

C:\WINDOWS

and not in My Documents where I would have to move to C:\

Don't know what you are trying to do, but try renaming it to Printdir.bat and move it to C:

Just reviewed the page. You need to do the part that says CREATE NEW ACTION FOR FILE FOLDERS and leave the bat file where windows put it. Rgds.
