Hello, I was curious if anyone knew of a way to export a couple of programs before I reformat my HDD.
More specifically, I have 2 HDs. One has some software on it (Photoshop CS, etc) that I know longer have the disks for and I want to repartition my HD. Is there any way to put the software onto the other drive, reformat, then move it back to the original drive? I know enough to know its probably not as simple as just copying the folder because of registry issues, right?

You don't have to reformat to repartition.

Yes you can.
Leave C intact, and partition the drive using whatever program you wish. Then use the unallocated space for Linux.
Life's more painless for the brainless.

Just curious . are you trying to migrate your operating system from one box to another? because if you are that opens up a whole 'nother can of worms especially if you are migrating from a "normal" ide environment to a raid array.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

I would make a ntbackup with system state.
Then see how the ubuntu people try to get cs working on linux to recover it to the new fixed system.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

not trying to migrate os...was given a box that had a raid setup.
should i just remove the raid adapter and go straight IDE? or will that screw up data on the drives since they are setup as an array already?
