I archive quite a bit of email through Outlook Express, so I've looked for a program that meets my needs for years, with no success...Is anyone aware of a program that will allow me to do the following: Highlight an email in the client, then choose "save", and have an option to save it as a zip file? Currently, I have to save it as a text or email file, then zip it...seems like one step too many...

Im not sure what client your using. Using outlook express im not given the option to save as a txt file, only as an email or html. By the way..The html was terrible. It removed all the images and broke up some of the layout.

Assuming the txt option is a function of your office suite/email client combo i would think that the ability to zip it would be something custom. The option to zip an email from the client isnt something the typical user is looking to do. I agree this could come in handy when working with large mail files. For this zip function to become a "Right-Click" option for example someone would have to create a plugin for your mail client that would integrate windows compressed folders or win-zip or whoever. Companies with specific needs like this have smaller software companies write custom apps to accomplish the task. This forum is typically visited by people working with single machines who dont have access to an IT department. My advice for you is to contact win-zip or your office suite and ask them for this information. Adding a right click/zip option to the mail client might be something that is available. A compression utility like winzip may have an additional product or some sort of freebie workaround that gets it done. If Microsoft knows about it i should think its built into office xp but i cant be sure.
