Comment:

Harddrive is a seagate 200 gig sata
System is a A8v Deluxe motherboard and amd 64bit 3200, when i boot up the sata is showed in the bios boot but the windows xp install does not detect it and i have tried both SP1 and SP2. I have been reading that there is a problem recongizing large drives but not sure how to fix it.

Thanks

It has nothing to do with the size of the drive if you're using an SP1 install disk. The problem is that you did not load the drivers for your mobo's Raid/IDE controller. This is done by hitting F6 during the windows installation process (at the very beginning) and inserting a floppy disk with the drivers on it. You have to make the disk by downloading the drivers from your mobo's website. If you don't make the disk, you will not be able to load windows.
