Ok, first off here are my systems Specs....
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA 80 GB
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
Thermaltake Venus 7+ CPU fan
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Asus K8V SE Deluxe
RAIDMAX ATX-868WBP
1 GB Corsair PC 3200Now to the problem.
--Here are the steps I have taken so far--
1. Installed the drive properly in the case.
2. Ran DiskWizard 2003
3. Configured the BIOSAfter this I tried to install Windows XP Pro using the CD, and it would go fine untill it came to this ---> http://seagate.com/support/disc/images/sata_detect1.jpg
I downloaded the following Asus driver Promise SATA378 Driver V1.00.0.26 (ATA Mode). I put this on a disk, and ran it when I got to this screen by pressing F6 in the begingin of installation ---> http://seagate.com/support/disc/images/sata_detect2.jpg
It came up with with the driver for XP and I selected it. I continued installing only to come to the same problem, "Setup did not find any hard disk drives on your computer."
I have contacted Asus for support, only to be given a ticket in which they will call me back. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

you MIGHT have downloaded the wrong driver, i am not sayin you did but maybe, asus should have provided you with a m/b disk, from there you can make the driver disk needed to setup your HD during XP
i had another asus board and i HAD to install the sata, raid, and ATA controllers before it would work, i don't know why but on the cd it had three different folders for making the disks and i had three disks...probably because it is ASUS...anyways, try and browse the disc, i can't tell you exactly where it is at but i know for a fact they are on there, it will be an exe. and all it will do is create the floppy disks for you
btw have fun with your machine, it will be quick, i have a amd 64 3000+ with a gig of kingston pc400 matched ram, MSI motherboard, 9800 Pro, Promise SATA controller, and a 10,000RPM sata hard drive, it is fun ;)
