sata drivers for Asus P5W DH Deluxe

Hi! does this motherBoard require the sata drivers at Windows install? I can't see any word about that in the card documentation nor any sata driver in the cd provided with the card nor on maxtor and asus site. I got the card yesterday. Please ask if you need further details. Thanks a lot for any clue!

According to the ASUS website: "Together with the Serial ATA ports enabled through the SATA 3Gb/s RAID controller" I believe this means that you install the RAID controller to access the SATA drives.

That's kinda ambiguous to me. Naturally you need the controller, but it really doesn't say that you need to install a driver.
If you don't have a driver disk, try it and see.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

You probably don't for basic SATA functionality.
However, for any kind of RAID implementation you'll definitely have to install the RAID drivers in addition to enabling (it may be disabled by default) the feature in the BIOS.
