Could someone please describe to me HOW to attach and configure a SATA drive? I have a 100gig IDE drive as my master and I attached a 36gig SATA drive to be my second drive HOWEVER I can not get it to show up in the bios or in disk management. I put power to the drive with a Molar and used the SATA cable that came with the MB MSI NEO 800 with onboard sata.

you did set the jumper on the second drive, to slave??
or with sata, you may not need to. i have that setup, on my board, but am running a 15,000 rpm scsi drive, which may be as fast.

Serial ATA drives are jumperless devices, you would not need to make any settings changes on the drive. The MSI Neo board uses an onboard chipset to control its serial ata port. Windows does not have this driver, you need to either install it from your mb's floppy by pressing F6 during install when windows requests third party devices, install the raid controller from your motherboards cd, or download the driver from the msi website. In addition, since you are trying to use a UDMA and a SATA drive at the same time, you will likely need to go into your BIOS settings and change your IDE settings. Also, are you using a Neo or a Neo 2? On the Neo 2, it will be in integrated periphials, and you will need to change the settings to legacy support, allow P-ATA + S-ATA.
