I've got this Dell Pentium 4 motherboard that seems to be working fine accept when I connect a Sata hdd to it. It's got both ide connections which I use for a primary and secondary hdd but it's also got two sata connectors. Can I hookup a third drive which is a sata. Everytime I do this it won't boot to windows. I'm thinking maybe I need drivers or the drive is bad?

What's showing in the BIOS when you connect the SATA drive?

Yes, you have to check the bios settings. Make sure that the IDE drives are before the SATA drives in the boot sequence.

It seems that when you hook up the SATA drive, the system is trying to boot from it, which of course will not work.
