I was getting an UNMOUNTALE_BOOT_DEVICE error from my hard drive, so Dell replaced it. Now, I have to get the data off of the bad drive. My plan is to boot from the new SATA drive, and put the old SATA drive in as a slave and see if I can access it to get my data. The problem is, I am not that familiar with SATA hard drives. I know they are not like IDE drives, where you set jumpers and put them on one cable. On the mobo, it looks like there is a another slot for a SATA drive cable. Is it as simple as plugging the drive into the cable and starting the computer, or do I need to configure the BIOS? One last thing, if it says "UNMOUNTALE_BOOT_DEVICE" am I even gonna be able to access the drive?
