When I try to boot into safe mode from the options screen the computer simply reboots and I end up back at the options screen. I've read previous posts on this problem and if I'm not mistaken the solution suggested is to run a repair installation. My question is are there other possible(simpler) solutions to this problem? Any help will be appreciated.

go to registry editor and see if this key is present --> hkey local machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/safeboot

i have a backup of this key FROM MY PC on 2shared (security reasons..deleting it can prevent booting in safe mode)... i don't know the posting rules so i won't post all the site...but after going to 2shared type in: "/file/4273408/3b28e92f/safeboot.html" (without quotes)

i don't know if it will help you but...
