Ive heard so much about the problems windows has and that mac has a better, less-flawed OS. Would it be possible to install a mac os on a pc? Would it seem like something thats worth doing?
This site shows how you can emulate mac os on windows:

If you have time to play with computers then there are ways to start. Dunno if I'd start with that. You would have to purchase a copy of MacOSx just to try.
I'd suggest you download either the latest Knoppix cd or dvd. It is similar to Macos in many ways. Knoppix and many other run as what is called a LIVE CD. You simply boot to the cd or dvd and your Knoppix disk will not even use XP. They run versions of unix like OS's. Any name like linux, bsd, beos, qnx pretty much is all the same to the casual user.
Second best is a Virtual Machine (type of emulator) that can run many OS's within XP as if they were any window type application. They are easy and almost all free. See virtualpc or virtualbox or qemu. Qemu is rather techie but portable.
"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Before posting try google. Backup. Use anti virus software.

I wouldn't recommend using hackintosh, too much legal considerations. Why not just go out and buy a mac or if you go to your local store and try it out you might like it. With pc's I can imagine that it is horrible. I have done a little research and most are riddle with kernel panicks and such. Buy a real mac and be done with it, if you dont want to then it wouldnt be worth it trying on a regular old pc. Just a thought I would think that MAC would open up their os so that people can install it just like windows but I guess they are too closed off.

Why on earth would you want to try that? The biggest problem with Windows is that being the most widely used O/S it tends to be targeted by idiots that like screwing up other peoples computers! If you really want to try another O/S then why not try one of the Linux distros? Open Suse is pretty good as is Fedora 10 and Ubuntu. If you have enough patience you could even wait for Reactos to come out of alpha!
I have worked on a few Macs and apart from the novelty of playing with another O/S, I would choose Windows XP anytime! There just isnt as much software available for any other O/SComputers... designed to entertain, help with work but most of all to frustrate you!
