running iis in xp

I try to run IIS on my xp box. created a virtual directory pointing to the destination, i can see the stuff and download stuff with the http://localhost url, but people from the outside cannot see the page...does anyone know what the problem is?? thx in adv

"cannot see the page"...what happens? Do they get an error or notification page? What is it? Probably an anonymous user account permissions problem. What do you mean "outside"? Outside of your LAN?

yes, outside the lan... now i changed the default port to other, and it works fine now, would it be the default 80 port's been banned by my isp?? thx again

Port 80 was banned by my ISP - Charter. I have to use a different port also.
