JUST PUT A PARTITION IN USING 98 AND XP, DO I NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE GAME FOR EACH, OR CAN I JUST DOWNLOAD THE GAME IN 98 IN ORDER TO PLAY IT?
IT SEEMS LIKE A WASTE IF I HAVE TO PUT IT IN XP; I'M ONLY GOING TO USE IT IN 98 SINCE IT IS MORE COMPATABLE!

Install and play them under Win98. I have tested 26-30 games on Xp though, and so far all of them work. Some games even play better under Xp.

I'm an XP fan, and would say to use XP for games, as it is a) faster, b) more reliable, and more stable, but however, itdoes not run all games, so I'd recommend simply using XP for all games, and 98 for the ones that dont work (Tony Hawk's 2, Need For Speed: Porsche Challenge, FF7 (Chocobo Racing) and others that are incompatible), it's exactly what I do, with 98 on one hard drive, and XP on another, and just select which to boot from.

The Application compatibility update from Windows Update adds compatibility for some games and programs (Need for Speed, 102 dalmations, etc) and I'm sure many more will be in the next compatibility update. Stick with 98 for the games that don't work, and keep chekcing the XP web site and Windows Update

Remember that you are running 2 seperate and independant operating systems. I've never found that App Compatibility option to work correctly in XP but I have had great luck with NEW and CURRENT games, even some old ones. Keep 98 as stated before, but try most on XP. There is a difference, but some will only work on 98. Good luck...btw, I got my Porsche Unlimited to work flawlessly on XP.

Hi, I have Windows XP pro and ME dual booted, I have noticed that XP is nowhere near as fast when it comes to GTAIII. This may be a graphics card driver prob though. I'm not convinced that XP is all that great for games.
