Comment:

I have been trying to rid a computer of a lot of adware/malware/spyware and so I have deleted a lot of stuff using Adware and the like. Now when I reboot a couple of messages have appeared. One of them said:

Runner Error
"Could not load the target dll (C:\Program Files\BackWeb\BackWeb Client\6.1.0.153\Program\BackWeb.dll", error code 126)

A second message appears now that I have tried get rid of some other stuff:

Runner Error
Invalid BackWeb version id "6.1.0.153"

I thought that BackWeb wasn't something that isn't needed on a computer. Is it or isn't it something that should be removed?

Thanks.

Backweb is spyware that's installed along with some software. Do a file search for everything concerning backweb and delete it. If you know how to scan your registry, do the same there. If not, don't mess with it.

I have worked with the registry some. But, before I do anything, do I delete anything and everything with the words BackWeb in it? Just want to make sure before I proceed.
Thanks.

yes, but there will still be registry keys you need to remove also. Microsoft's homepage has some info on the keys. Check it out.
