Hello,
When I double click on my time clock in my tool bar, a message is displayed of:
"rundll32.exe
The specified path does not exist.Check the path, and try again"
So, I check the path of: c:\WINDOWS\system32 and in that folder is the rundll32.exe and rundll32. Whats the deal? It shows I have the file, it's in the correct place, but still getting errors. Could it be a conflict because there are two rundll32 files (one an .exe and the other is listed as application)?
I removed the non .exe file and still got the same error.
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
-Diametric

You can use system file checker to check all your system files - Click on start > run > type in sfc /scannow and then enter. There is a space between the c and /. If any files are missing or corrupted it should fix them.

Hi Marty,
Thanks for the response. I did as you suggested, and recieved this message:
sfc the path does not exist
Please cherck the path and try again
Any ideas?
Thanks,
-Diametric

Yeah...still got the same error message. I was looking online and found that you can replace the rundll32.exe file with as known good one, but it didn't work.
I hope I don't have to reformat.
Hmmm....
Thanks Again,
-Diametric

hey guys i have the same problem as Diametric. i can't seem to figure out whats going on with my files and i really don't want to reformat. i replaced my rundll32.exe file after doing multiple virus scans and such and it still doesn't work. also, most programs on my desktop such as winamp and aol instant messenger don't open. they say please specify the path and file name and all that jazz and it's been going on for a couple of days and i've worked like hell trying to fix it but i've run out of ideas, if either of you can help me out that'd be awesome. Diametric, did u fix the problem and if so how? or if u didn't did u just reformat? thanks i hope to hear form u either on here or my email.
~Jimmy
