When I want to sign into an online account sometims I get a runtime error which points at the internet explorer directory. It says 'abnormal program termination' I have windows xp which came with this version of explorer adn when i go to the microsoft site to download it says i have a new version of explorer already installed. I also can't remove explorer and re-install it. I have downloaded the updates and everything else but I'm still getting this error. It's also not consistent because sometimes i get it and sometimes i don't. The microsoft support page hasn't helped.

this is some plugin you have downloaded for internet explorer,any internet related downloads need to be uninstalled ,you could use msconfig cleanboot tshooting to find it,
you could also try creating a new user account to see if it is something specifically in your user account
