Hi,
I am trying to print over my home wireless network and get the error "the RPC server is unavailable." I get this in notepad but get a similar error with Word.

How is the printer connected to your wireless network? IE, do you have one of the nicer routers with a print server in it or is the printer connected to another computer on your network? If it is connected to another computer, how is it connected, IE. parallel port or USB? does it print directly from the computer it is connected to?

Kurt, Thanks for the reply. My printer is connected to my desktop with by parallel port. It does print directly from that pc. I'm trying to print from laptop when I get the error.

If no better answer arrives you might look at this.
There is a blurb on that on some site about SP2 may have caused it. Search for "mmc sp2 rpc unavailable" and see if that might apply???

Well for some reason I'm able to print without difficulties today. I haven't made any changes so it beats me. Thanks anyway for the help.
