rollercoaster tycoon display proble

i have a dell inspiron 7000 running windows xp sp1. i installed rollercoaster tycoon and i cant change my resolution from 640 X 480 to anything else. i installed all the drivers for the rage pro for windows xp and still nothing. it wont change, i installed a patch for RCT as well for windows xp. still nothing. anyone have this problem before and fixed it? or is it just goin to be like this because of an incompatibility issue?

Is your gf's card able to support higher resolutions or is it just that game

gf's? this is my computer. and yes the card is able to support more than 640 X 480, and rollercoaster tycoon can handle up to 1024 X 768 (which is the res i use windows xp at on this computer) thanks for the reply though

Uninstall Rollorcoaster Tycoon. Reboot and try to change the resolutions. IF you still can't after that..
Download your current drivers and have them handy.. Uninstall all drivers and software for the video card. Then uninstall the card from the computer..
Reboot
Install card and drivers. Now install the game. See if it happens again.

i got it working, i downloaded a patch off of atari's website and nows its working fine. thanks though
