I am trying to copy a local profile to a profile folder on a server 2003. I am logged in on a client as a domain administrator. both the server and the client can see each other and access shared files. permissions are set for the shared folder. When I select change I am not able to select a domain location only the local client computer is available in the location box. Any suggestions/

Are you trying to copy a profile or are you trying to change a profile type?

In the process of creating a roaming profile I need to click on change and be able to select the user from the domain list. Except that the domain list is not available and it should be because I can access the dc from the client

Are you trying to configure the DC from a client and not the server?

There are alot of security hoops you have to jump through (for obvious reasons) to do this, especially if you are trying to elevate roaming profile priveledges.
