I heard XP won't "allow" you to rip from cd as MP3. It will rip as WMA. I also heard that someone found a way to do it and extract an MP3 with a higher quality than WMA. Is there any way to rip via MP3 or no? Will AudioCatalys or AudioGrabber work on XP??? Or should I just stick to Win2k Pro???

Doing it with the Microsoft Media Player you can't convert to MP3 anymore. That's because they are trying to promote their WMA above the commonly used MP3 format. Any third party tools like AudioCatalyst or AudioGrabber will still work.
