right-click error

Specs: Microsoft Windows XP Professional, 2.511 GHz / 3454 MB
when I right-click folder for the dropdown menu, i get 'windows has encountered error and must close'. This also happens when I highlight a folder and go to 'edit'. when I click 'copy', same error.

6. Error message "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" when you right-click a folder.

Thank you so much. This information did solve my problem. I downloaded the program ShellExView and followed the instructions. By disableing all non-Microsoft programs and enabling one by one, I was able to isolate the troublesome program. Now that I know which one it was, I can confirm that I used the program right before this started. I would never have thought it would cause the problem. Thank you again. I was told it would be four days before a tech could look at my computer.
