hi, i recntly finally got a new hard drive to work...now i ha ve a problem everyime i go into 'my computer' and click on the new drive it asks me to format...
what i'm planning on doing is formatting that drive, then use "Get Data Back", this is just really a quesion on if the program will work.
once i've formatted i plan on using get data back to copy file to the old drive..so just making sure here ;) , get data back will retrive my files DEFINTLY after a format?...thers only 140GB + files at stake here :)

when you format through windows all that it does is remove the first 1 out of every file and programs, so all the rest data is still there, it is kinda like the tabe of contents is removed on a book, but the rest of it is still there, will data back bring your data back? well i cn't tell you that because i have never used it, but that is what the software is supposed to do right?!

I would not format a drive that you know you want to get data back from. In general, formatting means losing all data on the drive. I would not trust getting 140 GB of data back to a program you never used before.
If the drive is not formatted then how did you get data on it in the first place??
There is something missing here. Please think again, or tell more.
