I have mapped a network drive to a Windows share so that it re-connects every time I log on. I had the computer remember (save) the username and password. Now I have forgotten the password, and I wish to access the share from other computers, so I need the password again. Is there a way to recover the password?
Since the computer can re-connect every time, it must have the password stored in some readily-decodable form somewhere.
This is my computer and I have access to both a non-Administrator account and an Administrator account on this computer.
Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

The share would have been mapped using one of the two accounts. If the account used for authentication is only on your local machine, then you'd have to obtain the permission information from the share and then add the proper account to the other machine.
This wouldn't happen to be a machine at work authenticating via AD would it?
