Comment:

This is probably simple when you know how, but every time I back up my documents to an external hard drive for safe keeping, all the personalised icons that I've given to all my various folders get lost between my laptop and the external drive.

All the data and folders transfer just fine, but the folders get reset to the bog-standard yellow icons when they get to the external drive.

Is there a way to preserve my personalised folder settings when backing up?

Thanks

How did you create the "personalized folder" icons & settings? Did you use a third party program to accomplish it?

No, I just right-clicked > Properties > Customize > Change Icons.
