Restoring ghosted disks

Having problems restoring my ghosted image to my new hard drive. I ghosted my raptor hard drive which took 7 cds. Now I'm trying to restore them to a new raptor hard drive but I get an error when inserting disk #2. An output error and then reads A:\ghost***.txt. I use the browse key to select the image on the second disk but have constantly received this error and can get no further. Any suggestions?

I don't use Ghost, but it sounds like possibly it was trying to either read or write the ghost***.txt file on the floppy (A:) drive. Is the floppy drive ready with a needed Ghost diskette in it?

Might see if symantec has a solution. I think that your A: is actually a phoney A: and part of the CD (if you booted from CD) and since norton can't write to the cd is deletes the error log. ??

If there is one thing that gets my goat it's the respondent who offers no advice, lnocks the posters product and suggests another.
He is using GHOST... answer his problem.
Topscrt... I am very much afraid that your Ghost is not going to work. I would suspect that the error has occured during the writing stage. Do you have the facility to check your disks on another installaton by using Ghost Explorer. If you can and you get a message that the image cannot be displayed I would suggest that you will have to start again. I have got into the habit of checking my disks with Explorer before I do any restoring as errors can and will happen.
PS: Believe me there is nothing wrong with Ghost!
Once I thought I was wrong, now I'm not so sure!

I should have said what Ewen said. It is saying that your data is bad but it just can't leave a log file to say that. I have not heard of a way to recover .gho files unless they have been tested when first made. Your only choice is to check for dust or dirt on the CD #2 or even try other CD's incase you put the wrong lable on it.
