Hi all! I have an older computer that was given to me by my previous employer. I would like to restore it to original factory settings and have no idea how to do it. ... click "Start" >All Programs >HP Tools >HP PC System Recovery.
(if it exists on your pc)... you could also try the (click the blue) >> <F11> <key> method
(if the recovery partition exists on your pc).

I looked under system recovery and I can only go back as far as 2 months on it. I want it completely to original settings.

The three most important things in computing:
1. Backups, 2. Backups and 3. Backups.
System restore is not the same as System recovery.
Try response #7. You can't perform a factory restore while in Windows.
... you can evoke the HP recovery whilst in Windows (fixed one before) ... see "Response Number 5" HP PC System Recovery
... also it may be the <F10> key
...for earlier models ... non laptops(?)
