I Removed a second hd from my pc to use on my mums computer. When I turned my computer on it would not boot, got the NTLDR message. Unfortunatley both pc's could not get on the net at that stage so being impatient I made matters worse.

I Reinstaled XP without changing hd format, same partion but created in a new folder.
I was able to download a driver and get my mums pc going.

The problem is with the current XP setup. None of my previously installed programs are working. I can't find some docs under the old my documents folder which would be nice to have.

Is there a way to uninstall the current XP to get old XP running with progs, docs and all? IF not how to get hold of missing docs?

See answer 2 in the post below yours - NTLDR missing. Same problem, different cause.

When you get into the recovery console, make sure you select the original Windows installation, not the new one. When you boot to the original installation you can just delete the new one.

BTW: It is FIXBOOT, not BOOTFIX.
