Hi, my systems crashed and i cant get it to start back up again. It gets to the desktop (although i dont actually see the desktop) then crashes back to startup.
Occassionally there was an error - something to do with windows32/vsutil.dll.. but ivelooked that up and it says its something to do with zone alarm.
Ive got another partition with xp on it, and i can access my files from the busted partition from there.. i was just wondering if theres any way i can access a restore point from the broken partition through the working one..
or if theres any other way to use that working partition to get the other one working.
Ive got loads of really sentimental pictures and documents on it, would really appreciate anyones help.

Your restore points won't be the same so you cannot use them (every registry is different). If you are able to access your drive from the 2nd installation I'd suggest rescuing your data before you go any further.

Am doing that now. so is there no way to roll back or anything from the healthy partition?.. or anyway to access a restore point from the command prompt or something?
Ive tried every option for startup - and it just crashes each time, including safe mode - with command prompt.
