I had a picture as my desktop then one day it was gone and the "active desktop recovery" white screen came up instead. I've tried getting rid of malware by running trendmicro housecall in hopes that it will let me restore my desktop but it didnt. when I tried to change my desktop to a new picture it wouldnt even let me choose the (none) option in the display settings. it wont let me click on anything in that column or the "stretch" drop down box next to it. all I can change is the solid background color. what do I have to do in order to get the background to display the image? as the labtop starts up it shows my desktop picture but then goes straight to the white background with the "restore active desktop" screen.
