If i uncheck automatic restart in startup and recovery, will that stop the reboots when there is an error, and will it hurt to do that, thank you

Yes that will stop your computer from rebooting when it experiences a "Stop Error". What will happen - possibly nothing, I'm not sure because I've never tried.
Do a search on "automatic restarts" using XP's Help and Support Center on your box.
If you are experiencing frequent Stop Errors you may want to remove the offending software, if you know what it is.

Yes, It will stop rebooting and give you the blue screen of death instead. On that BSOD there will be an error shown so you can troubleshoot that error. Regards

Thank you both, maybe if i stop the restarts and get the bsod, i will get the error that is causing them.
