Comment:

My computer restarts intermittently. The message in the event viewer states: Cleaning up corrupt content index metadata on c:\system volume information\catalog.wci. Index will be automatically restored by refiltering all documents.
Can someone tell me what could be wrong?
Can this problem be corrected?
Thanks.

Reply:

Disable system restore..reboot your PC renable it and run chkdsk c: /r from the run menu.

You lose all restore point doing this and that chkdsk might take a little while.
