Resizing Disk

Using Partition Commander, (V-Comm), I needed to gain some free space on my "C" drive. Following instruction from V-Comm I moved space from my storage "D" drive, the attempted to re-size "C". All went well until the final stage of the operation. I keep getting a message regarding the possibility of crosslinked files due to an improper shutdown at a previous time. I have run CHKDSK /F and also SFC, Win XP Pro, several times but still get the same message. V-Comm suggests that I move important data to storage then delete the C drive and create a new partition. I told them that would be the last option for me. They then said they may have a fix, but would be about a week coming. Does anyone have a suggestion that I might try? Any help appreciated as I really don't want to delete and reinstall my OS, and I would rather not wait for V-Comm. Stephen
