Comment:

I Need more space on my Drive 0 Active Partition that has my OS on it. Can I move files in adjacent extended partition to another and format it 5 gigs smaller to 15 gigs, then use the unallocated space to increase the size of my Active partition without Partition Magic? When I create the new unallocated space, where will it show in Disk Management Utility? Between Active partition and the newly reduced partition, after the newly reduced partition or at the far right of the Disk Management Utility Grafic? Hope this is making sense.

Thanks for your help...I did a search but am confused with the different answers.

No MS OS can change the system/boot partition either to shrink it or grow it. It simply is not allowed by the system.

This is why there are third party products like Partition Magic.

I forgot to mention that this is Formatted NTFS. I just tried to move my K:/Documents and Settings directory in Windows to my Data partition (M:) and get the following message: You are Sharing K:/documents and Settings/All Users/Documents as SharedDocs. The folder will not be shared after you move or rename it. Are you sure you want to do this?
There is no one else can log onto this computer and I don't need to share these files. Is it safe to do this and what are the ramifications. I need the space freed up if possible. Thanks again...

Dont move the folder "Documents and Settings". Because it consists of user profiles etc. You can move the user data under each user profile like under My Documents, Desktop and Favourites.
