My C drive is too small (3.8 G), anyone know how to resize it?

ps, i tried partition magic 8, but it said that the drive letter can't be identified, so, any one know how to resize that by xp(like fdisk in windows 98)?

You can use fdisk to do it, just use win98 boot disk but remember to backup all your data first otherwise you'll lose it all.

Hi,

Hold on!

As I read it, you must have at least one more partition. I would not do anything to a working C:\ drive unless I absolutely, positively could not find any other way to solve my problem. "If it works, don't mess with it" may be an expression you've heard. And I would totally rely on XP tools to do anything to an XP system. I would not use Fdisk because your c:\ drive should be NTFS not FAT32 and fdisk can't handle NTFS.
Okay, enough of what I wouldn't do.

I would move some of the stuff on c:\ to another drive. There is no reason why 3.8 GB isn't adequate for c:\ in Windows XP.

Items which can be moved

1. Page file (virtual memory) 384 MB
2. If you have CD-R there is a 1 GB buffer.
3. Any program that can be "custom" installed where you can specify the partition where it is put.

I would try these "easy" fixes first.

Good Luck
