Comment:

Hi,
Within the next few days I will be upgrading my system (new motherboard and processor). At present I have a dual booting system Win98 on C: and XP Home on D:. I do not want to format any of these drives and wish to keep the same operating systems.
What I need to know is how do I re-instate the dual booting process once the upgrade is complete.
TIA

u prolly wont get away with it as xp is bios tied and doesnt like hardware changes

i suggest backing xp files with files and transfer wizard on xp to 98 (c)

then reinstalling xp once changes made
98 will accept hardware changes and tick along nicely

once xp reinstalled the files and transfer everything back in again..

good luck

Every time you replace Motherboard, windows treats it like new computer.

Just do clean intsall and reactivate xp over the net. If not work call MS and they will happily give you new code
