Comment:

When I open a program and then look at File, there is a list of last open programs listed at the bottom of the drop down list. Is it possible to limit the number of files shown there? If so how? Thanks

Right click START - left click Properties - Start menu tab - Customize button - there you will see a window for adding or limiting last programs.

If you are talking about a particular program like Microsoft Word, then you have to look for settings in that program. It would be called something like MRU or "Most Recently Used" files.
