Does anyone know how to reset your IP configuration? I've tried this in my command prompt "netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt" but that didn't seem to work. This is VERY important so if anyone can help i'd appreciate it. I'm on a cable internet connection running win XP PRO.

Thanks!

Bobby

Get into your command box by hitting START--RUN--and type CMD. Type ipconfig /release to release your ip, then type ipconfig /renew to renew your ip address. Hope this helps you.

Thanks this did reset my IP, but I was hoping the IP would change. Guess you can't change it with a cable internet connection.

Maybe you can also try this, get to your command prompt again and type this:

arp -a
this will show you your ip address, after you have done this type this:

arp -d *****
where the stars(just an example) are your ip address

then go ahead and reboot you machine. This may or may not help you out. Good luck.

if you just type arp in the command line, it will give you a list of commands that you can use.
